Author: Charles Gomez & Co
The lecture will be delivered by Professor Olena Nihreieva, Associate Professor in International Law at the Faculty of Economics and Law, Odessa, Ukraine.
This lecture is open to the public and will be held on the 18th of November 2022 at the Europa Point Campus Conference Hall of the University of Gibraltar, between 14:30 – 15:30.
Among other activities Prof Nihreieva has worked as Executive Secretary of the scientific journal “Odessa National University Herald. Series: Jurisprudence” and has administrative scholar experience as Faculty Vice-Dean for Research.
Recently she presented courses as Visiting Professor at the University of Bologna, Italy (2022) and the University of Foggia, Italy (2022).
Additionally, she has participated in many international conferences and other scientific events in Ukraine and abroad.
She is currently a member of the Faculty of International Law and International Affairs at the University of Cádiz.
This event was co-organised on the University of Cádiz (UCA) side by Professors Alejandro del Valle, Jesús Verdú and Gibraltarian Barrister Charles Gomez who, since 2016, has been an Associate Professor of International Law at that university.
Mr Gomez said:
“The University of Cádiz is always eager to work with the University of Gibraltar. We have for many years been organising lectures and seminars and Professor Olena Nihreieva’s current engagement with the UCA provides an opportunity for the relevant legal issues and background relating to the Russian invasion of Ukraine to be brought to a Gibraltarian academic audience, although the public at large is cordially invited to attend.”
In 2016, Charles Gomez became the first Gibraltarian lawyer in history to become an Honorary Professor at a Spanish university, after many years of collaboration with the University of Cádiz.
